Mint Jacquard Duvet Covers This jacquard design featuring a trailing floral pattern is adapted from a wallpaper by Paul Balin (1856-98) from around 1850-73. He used a special type of press that enabled him to produce wallpaper in relief, imitating with unrivalled perfection of the materials he copied, such as leather and lace. In 1873 Balin exhibited this piece at the Vienna Exhibition, based on an 18th century textile from his own collection. The range includes a duvet cover and oxford pillowcase edged with cord piping, jacquard quilted throw, valance and one size of tape top curtains. The percale housewife pillowcase and fitted sheet feature a pretty small scale co-ordinate print and the collection is accessorised with a sateen cushion with floral embroidery.
